Supporting Well-being at Valley House: A Comprehensive Approach

Well being Support Group - Diverse People

Valley House is deeply committed to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for individuals we support. Recognising the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being, we have implemented a multifaceted approach to enhance the overall well-being of everyone within our community.

  • 1:1 Wellbeing Support: We offer personalised support plans tailored to individual needs. This may involve guidance on improving physical health, coping mechanisms for mental health challenges, and connecting individuals with relevant community resources and support groups.
  • Mental Health First Aiders: Trained staff are readily available to provide initial support and guidance to service users experiencing mental health challenges. These trained individuals can offer a listening ear, provide emotional support, and guide individuals towards appropriate resources.
  • Dedicated Support: Our Service User Wellbeing Co-ordinator, is specifically focused on service user health and well-being. She plays a crucial role in coordinating support services, advocating for individual needs, and ensuring that our well-being initiatives are effectively meeting the needs of our service users.
  • Comprehensive Group Work Programmes: We have offered a variety of engaging group work programmes designed to promote physical and mental well-being. These programmes include:
    • Yoga: Promotes flexibility, strength, and mindfulness.
    • Gym Passes: Encourages physical activity and provides access to professional fitness facilities.
    • Swimming: Offers a low-impact form of exercise with numerous physical and mental health benefits.
  • Signposting to External Agencies: We understand that sometimes individuals may require specialised support beyond what we can directly provide. Therefore, we actively engage in signposting, connecting service users with relevant external resources and support services within the community.

By implementing these comprehensive strategies, Valley House strives to create an environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their full potential. We believe that by prioritising the well-being of our service users, we can significantly enhance their overall quality of life and contribute to their long-term success.

Let’s work together to make wellbeing a priority!
