Valley House has received a grant of £600 from Coventry Building Society Community Fund.

This fantastic sum of money will be used to provide welcome packs for women and families in our supported accommodation. We give these packs to all who are supported by our domestic violence and abuse (DVA) team. Often arriving with very little, these packs provide essential food and toiletries for the first few days in our accommodation.

What’s in a welcome pack?

  • Toothpaste and brush
  • shower gel
  • shampoo
  • deodorant
  • underwear
  • nightwear
  • towel
  • face cloth
  • nappies and wipes
  • baby milk
  • food, including tea, coffee, milk, sugar and cereals
  • washing powder

The cost of a pack ranges from £21-£31 depending on if  it’s for an adult, baby or child. We don’t receive any funding for these and rely on donations from individuals and organisations, like Coventry Building Society to enable us to provide them.

We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to staff at the Bell Green branch of Coventry Building Society for supporting us with the application and for continuing to support us in making a real difference to the lives of people in and around  Coventry.
